ELIGIBILITY
To be considered for an FCF Academic or Need Based Scholarship:

General Eligibility (Applies to Both Scholarships)

Residency: Applicants must be legal residents of Georgia. Students may attend an accredited college, university, or technical institution in any U.S. state.

Student Status: Eligible applicants must be high school seniors or currently enrolled in an undergraduate college or vocational program. This is a non-renewable (one-time) scholarship. Students may apply again in future years; however, preference will be given to first-time applicants or those who have not previously received this award.
Graduate-level (master’s and doctoral) students are not eligible at this time. -
Enrollment: Applicants must be accepted into an accredited educational program (college or technical college) and be pursuing an Associate or Bachelor’s, degree

Community Involvement: Applicants must demonstrate active involvement in community activities (e.g., volunteering, club participation, leadership roles).

Timeliness: All applications must be submitted by the designated deadline to be considered for the 2026 awards. Deadline is April 15, 2026 at 12 pm est.

Academic Achievement Scholarship

Academic Performance: Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.4
Supporting Materials: In addition to the basic eligibility criteria, applicants must submit academic transcripts, letters of recommendation, and an essay that highlights academic achievements, leadership, and future career goals. 300-500 Words
Financial Need-Based Scholarship

Financial Hardship: Applicants must demonstrate documented financial need. This may include submitting financial aid documents (such as FAFSA results, tax returns, or other evidence of financial hardship). Minimum GPA is 2.8 to be eligible)

Career Commitment: Applicants should show a strong commitment to pursuing a college education, particularly in healthcare or other career fields.

Supporting Materials: Along with the general eligibility requirements, applicants are required to provide an essay outlining financial challenges, career aspirations, and how they plan to utilize the scholarship. 300 -500 Words.

FCF Academic and Needs Based Scholarship Applications Enrollment Dates: February 15 - April 15, 2026

DEADLINE: The Flournoy Cares Foundation office must receive completed applications and supporting documentation by Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 12:00 PM (EST) for consideration by the FCF Selection/Review Committee.

Award winners will be announced by email and phone on May 20, 2026.

An Awards Reception will be held on May 30, 2026, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Tubman African American Museum in Macon, GA 31201, to recognize all 2026 FCF Academic and Needs-Based Scholarship recipients and their family members. This event is by invitation only, as seating is limited.
